GRAPP&S, a Peer-to-Peer Middleware for Interlinking and Sharing Educational Resources

چکیده
This article presents GRAPP&S (Grid APPlication & Services), a specification of an E-learning architecture for the decentralized sharing of educational resources. By dealing with different resources such as files, data streams (video, audio, VoIP), queries on databases but also access to remote services (web services on a server, on a cloud, etc.), GRAPP&S groups the resources of each institution in the form of a community and allows sharing among different communities. Educational resources are managed on a transparent manner through proxies specific t o e ach t ype o f r esources. T he t ransparency p rovided b y p roxies c oncerns t he l ocation of sources of educational data, the processing of queries, the composition of the results and the management of educational data consistency. Furthermore, the architecture of GRAPP&S has been designed to allow security policies for data protection, both within a community and between different communities.

IRTL (Information Resource Transaction Layer) Middleware Design for P2P and Open GRID Services
Peer-to-peer computing is a remarkable tool that has emerged in recent years, most notably in the form of music sharing services, but in a variety of other interesting guises as well. Just as the design of web browsers has required many generations to reach a certain level of usefulness and usability, service designs for peer-to-peer computing environments present numerous unresolved technical ...
متن کاملScrivener: Providing Incentives in Cooperative Content Distribution Systems
Cooperative peer-to-peer (p2p) applications are designed to share the resources of participating computers for the common good of all users. However, users do not necessarily have an incentive to donate resources to the system if they can use the system’s services for free. In this paper, we describe Scrivener, a fully decentralized system that ensures fair sharing of bandwidth in cooperative c...
متن کاملA Space-Efficient Model for Sharing Personal Knowledge Objects in Peer Communities
In the future it is likely that peer communities will be routinely established for the purpose of sharing electronic resources and targeted information among groups of peers with common interests. This sharing will be possible by building on existing Internet technologies, such as web applications and services, and peer-to-peer networks. Today many peer-to-peer networks do not work well for sha...
متن کاملJXTA-SOAP: Implementing Service-Oriented Ubiquitous Computing Platforms for Ambient Assisted Living
The challenging context of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) demands for a service-oriented technological shift in the field of ubiquitous computing. Recently, novel paradigms have been proposed, most of them envisioning arbitrary pairs of peer application entities communicating and providing services directly with each other and to users. In order to enforce these paradigms even to systems which i...
متن کاملVirtual Overlays: An Approach to the Management of Competing or Collaborating Overlay Structures
Overlay networks are a technique whereby application developers create virtual customized networks on top of physical networks. Recent implementations of peer-to-peer applications such as file sharing and VoIP have increasingly meant that overlay networks have almost become ubiquitous. As a result, future overlay networks will increasingly coexist on the same node. A number of middleware framew...
